Franklin Delano Miller, 82, of Pinch, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 8th, 2019. He was born November 4th, 1936 in Leatherbark, WV to the late Samuel and Alta Miller. Frank was a 1955 graduate of Charleston High School. He began working at the age of 15 for Broughton Dairy and worked there until he retired 42 years later. He was a member of the Elkview Baptist Church for close to 40 years.

Frank was a proud supporter and volunteer of Herbert Hoover High School. From facility maintenance to equipment transportation, Frank was ready to assist the school and athletic department in any way he could. He was inducted into the Herbert Hoover High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Frank was known by several endearing names. To the students and players whose lives he touched he was Paw Paw Frank, to his granddaughter Brianna he was known as her loving Paw Paw, and to his daughter Kim he was known as Hero.

Frank loved to travel and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of Teamsters, the JD Travelers and the Road Runners Camping Club.

Frank worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. He lived his life through adversity and was a cancer and heart surgery survivor. He also had been battling the effects of Alzheimer's but never forgot his family.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his eight brothers.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty Miller; daughters Cathy Harless (Tom), Kim Miller; brothers, Odus Miller; granddaughter, Brianna Harless , nephew Robert "Hoogie" Miller (Connie) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Braley Care Home and Hubbard Hospice House for their kindness and loving care.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Monday, March 11th, 2019 at Elkview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Bias and Pastor David Keeney. Burial will follow the service in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, The Alzheimer's Association, Herbert Hoover High School Athletics, or the charity of your choice.

Dear Family & Friends, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Mr. Miller personally, but I do know the pain that comes from the loss of a dear loved one and what has brought me comfort. Please accept my condolences to your family, death of a loved one is never easy to accept. Our Creator, Jehovah God has made a promise to end death forever; this promise can be found in his Word the Bible at Rev. 21: 3 & 4. Please accept this as truth: that our creator will restore life on a perfect earth where pain and death will be NO MORE.

Dear Betty, Cathy and Kim, My heart is saddened by the knowledge of your loss. From the time I first met Frank--and his crazy brother, Doyle, at Bowers Presbyterian Church, I was mesmerized. He was always so handsome and so nice and often slipped me, along with most of the other children, candy or gum. I, as a little girl, thought he was so handsome! Betty, you have been in my prayers during Frank's final illness. I know he will be sorely missed, but I can almost hear him swapping tales with Doyle and the other brothers. Much love, and many prayers for you all! Jackie [Blake] Miles

Frank Miller was a strong, hard working man, but had a wonderful sense of humor. Cathy and I were always up to something, and he knew it. I loved to be around when they would banter back and forth! Such a good man, and he loved his girls. Sincere condolences to Betty, Cathy and Kim. Rest in peace, Frank Miller.

I have known Frank for 50 years since I was a kid. He used to pick me up on Tuesdays ,so we could go to his mothers farm in Calhoun county to cut her grass, He always went in early on Tuesdays, so he could get off early. We did that for several summers. I also cut his grass too. But really that was just a small part of it. He was one of my dad's best friends and great friend to me and our entire family. He was a big part of my youth. He later started going to football games with my dad to watch me play and from that he started hauling the equipment which he continued to do for many years. Frank, like my dad and so many of that generation were hard workers . Frank sacrificed his body with 42 years on a milk truck to provide for his family. Men like that are getting fewer and fewer. I am glad Frank's battle is over and he and my dad are in heaven still talking about the turkey and trout fishing adventures they shared. I laughed at them every time they talked about, My sincerest condolences to Cathy, Kim , and Betty. To Frank, a life well lived.
