Obituary for Franklin Delano "Frank" Miller

Franklin Delano Miller, 82, of Pinch, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 8th, 2019. He was born November 4th, 1936 in Leatherbark, WV to the late Samuel and Alta Miller. Frank was a 1955 graduate of Charleston High School. He began working at the age of 15 for Broughton Dairy and worked there until he retired 42 years later. He was a member of the Elkview Baptist Church for close to 40 years.

Frank was a proud supporter and volunteer of Herbert Hoover High School. From facility maintenance to equipment transportation, Frank was ready to assist the school and athletic department in any way he could. He was inducted into the Herbert Hoover High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Frank was known by several endearing names. To the students and players whose lives he touched he was Paw Paw Frank, to his granddaughter Brianna he was known as her loving Paw Paw, and to his daughter Kim he was known as Hero.

Frank loved to travel and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of Teamsters, the JD Travelers and the Road Runners Camping Club.

Frank worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. He lived his life through adversity and was a cancer and heart surgery survivor. He also had been battling the effects of Alzheimer's but never forgot his family.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his eight brothers.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty Miller; daughters Cathy Harless (Tom), Kim Miller; brothers, Odus Miller; granddaughter, Brianna Harless , nephew Robert "Hoogie" Miller (Connie) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Braley Care Home and Hubbard Hospice House for their kindness and loving care.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Monday, March 11th, 2019 at Elkview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Bias and Pastor David Keeney. Burial will follow the service in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, The Alzheimer's Association, Herbert Hoover High School Athletics, or the charity of your choice.
