A Friend

I knew George exclusively from our mutual love of riding dirtbikes. I've spent a lot of time with George in the forest, clearing trails, riding, and dragging our bikes through creek beds. George and I were very similar in skill level, which means that we often wound up together on the trails. I can't even count the number of times he and I helped one another drag our bikes over fallen trees or up muddy creek beds. It was during these times that George and I really became friends, because it gave us a chance to actually talk.

I'm heart broken about his passing. George was simply the most generous, kind person one could ever hope to meet. He was sincere, and would go out of his way to help. I know this because just a few weeks ago he stood on a large rock face, and helped at least six guys drag their bikes over a dangerous spot, then spent another 20 minutes helping me drag mine over the same spot. That was just who George really was and I'm sure he was exactly like that in "real life" too.

I will never forget George Carr. I will think of him often when we ride, and I will miss his sense of humor, his generosity, and his spirit. I hope his family will find peace someday, and I hope that I will see George again. Goodbye for now, George. Your true friend, Brent.
