Elsie (Carte) Milam
Elsie Faye Milam 102 of Charleston died October 15, 2017, at the home of her daughter Anna Lynn, after a short illness. Elsie was born Feb 6, 1915 to Monroe Roscoe Carte and Nora Jones Carte. She was an active member of the Elk Valley Advent Christian Church at Big Chimney since 1946. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years George William Milam, sister Roberta Carte Hunt, brothers Elmer and Arvil Carte, son Richard Dale Milam, sons-in-law Frank Lynn, George Rogers, Phillip McCormick, nephew Ralph Carte, nieces Josephine Carte Munson, Betty Carte Hauldren special son Norman Baber.
She is survived by daughters Anna Lynn, Lois McCormick Pendleberry (David) of Charleston, Janet Rogers, Mary Rogers (Harley) of Robertsville MO. Sons David (Charlene) of Kelly Iowa, William (Bill) (Darlene) of Charleston, daughter in-law Kay Milam of Elkview. Special children Sharon Baber Myland, Junetta Hooper Skeen Adams, of Nitro, Johnny Hooper of Charleston. Nineteen grand children, twenty-eight great grand children, three great-great grand children. Nieces Claryce Cantley, Jenny Carte, Donna Hunt Rawson, Karen Hunt Swiney. Nephews Ronald Carte, Steve Milam.
Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday October 19, 2017, at the Blue Creek Advent Christian Church, with Pastor Roy Boyd conducting the funeral. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, at Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Hafer Funeral Home.
As a family we would like to thank Anna Lynn and family with whom she resided since 2006, who have been her care givers for the last two years, and Hospice Home Care.
