Wilma Lee Carper Carter, 86, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1931 in Amma, WV daughter of the late Earl Ray and Ollie Mae Carper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Willard Carper; sisters, Beulah Hill, Ellen Grubbs and Martha Cook.
She was a devote wife, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Pinch. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she cared for her precious puppy, Lucky.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Carter; sister, Erline Davis of Charleston; brother, Forest Carper and sister-in-law, Judy of Elkview, sister-in-law Alleene Carper of Evans. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jane Christenson for her friendship, assistance and devotion. Also would like to thank caregivers, Anna Slaman Carte, Melissa Derrick, Amy Robinson, Karen Christian and Tara Chambers.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Pinch on Monday, July 17, 2017, beginning at 12:00pm with former Pastor James A. Walther officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour before the service.
