Myrtle Eva Burgess

Myrtle Eva Burgess, 82, of Elkview went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 3, 2016 after a long illness.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Delcie Carpenter; husband, Harley Basil Burgess; son, Holbert Burgess; siblings, Lucy, Noah, Vernon, Seely, Garnet.

She is survived by sons, Harley (Michele) Burgess, Tommy (Michelle) Burgess, Paul Ray (Kim) Burgess, Okey (Christina) Burgess; daughter, Laverna (Danny) Estep; siblings, Herb, Patty, Molly, Mary, Velma, Homer; 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview with Pastor Reggan Jett officiating. Burial will be in the Billy Hunt Cemetery, Ambler Ridge.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home, 100 Verna Drive, Elkview.
