In the early hours of Friday, April 15, 2016, Viola Faye (Bryan) Archer took her last breath on earth and her first breath in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Viola was born March 29, 1935 in Burkburnett, Texas to the late John “Pete” and Vera (Wheeler) Bryan. Her long term battle with dementia kept her from the church she loved, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She had previously worked with the youth, taught Sunday School, served as secretary and was a faithful member of the choir.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Johnnie Archer; two grandchildren, Leslie and Joel Archer; four brothers, M.A., John M., D.L., and Thomas; and six sisters, Ronnie, Dollie, Louise, Jane, Loretta and Lahoma.
She is survived by her three sons, Johnnie Jr. & wife, Cindy, Wendell & wife, Stacie, and Bryan; three grandchildren, Heather Lipscomb, Amber Shinn and Nicole Archer; four great grandchildren, Addison, Greer, Allie and Stella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank Nellie Stone for her many years of love, support, friendship, and outstanding care of our mother and grandmother.
Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Elkview with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Entombment will be at Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 58 Mount Pleasant Drive, Elkview and one hour prior the day of the service.
