Eugenia Alice (McCue) Suttle, 98, of Charleston, a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Oakridge Center.
She was a faithful Christian for 72 years and was a member of Bible Center Church, Charleston. At the age of 49 and upon the death of her husband, she returned to school to become an LPN and also obtained other certifications during her career. Eugenia worked for Summersville Hospital, Kanawha Valley Memorial Hospital and retired from CAMC Women and Children's. While raising their family in Rainelle, WV, she was a seamstress for several stores and individuals. She loved to knit (having made an afghan for each grandchild), work crossword puzzles, and bake, often sharing with anyone who came along. Following retirement, she did private duty nursing.
Eugenia is preceded in death by her husband, Paris Suttle; parents, Arnold and Blanche (Craig) McCue; daughter, Barbara Ely; brothers, George (Birdie) McCue, John (Laura) McCue; sisters, Mary (Sherman) Groves, Betty (Sam) Sapp.
Surviving are sons, Jack (Nancy) Suttle of Clendenin, Bill (Delane) Suttle of Cincinnati, OH., and son-in-law, Don Ely of Cincinnati. Also, eight grandchildren, Debora (Stan) Cunningham, Alissa (Adam) Patterson, Lora (Jared) Hughes, Lynette (Tony) Lucas, Wally (Spring) Suttle, John (Patsy) Suttle, Kathy (Steve) Griffin, Billie Suttle; sixteen great grand children and two great-great grandchildren.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor's Lee Swor and David Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11:00am Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Mr. Vernon Cemetery, Summersville.
