Naomi Vina Sampson Cavender, 100, born January 8, 1915, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Home.
She loved Jesus, her church, family and friends; and was a very special mother, grandmother. Naomi loved to sew, quilt, work in the garden, mow the lawn and loved being out in the sunshine. She loved to feed the birds, and was kind and gentle to everyone and all of Gods creatures. Naomi was a Christian and a member of the Sandy Valley PAC Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Cavender; father, Elias Sampson, mother, Florence Kiser Sampson; sons, Herschel and Don Cavender; daughter, Hilda Cooper; one grandson, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter.
Naomi is survived by sons, Arnold Gene Cavender of Frame, Jimmy Cavender of Clendenin; daughter, Ruby Newhouse of Clio; brother, Charles Wesley Sampson, Ohio, 18 grandchildren,
36 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Clarence Deel officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
