Verman "Ray" Wilson
Verman "Ray" Wilson, 68, of Charleston was given final peace from the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015, after several years of battle with cancer.

He was born in Roane County on February 23, 1947 to the late Verman and Evelyn Waggoner Wilson. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Vonnie and Barbara.

Ray is survived by eighteen years of marriage to his second wife, Kathy L. Wilson and yet still his trusted loyal friend, companion and caretaker of the past seven years. He is also survived by one son, Jason Ray and wife Alisha of Jackson County; two daughters, Natalie K. Strickland and husband, Tim of Kanawha County and Valerie N. Fleming and boyfriend Chris Jarrett of Kanawha County.

He was blessed with one granddaughter Nicole of Kanawha County, four grandson's Caleb and Grady of Jackson County; James and wife Mandy of Lincoln, NE, Michael of Lincoln, NE and three great grandchildren, Damien, KayLynn, Camden of Lincoln, NE.

His surviving siblings are Richard and wife Cathy of Roane County, Marjorie of Jackson County, Steve and wife Reba of Roane County, along with numerous nieces and nephews that were always respective and loving. Also remembering his friend and companion Amanda Causey and son Richard "Rocky" Carrington; first wife, Linda Wilson.

We would like to thank all of the nurses and Dr. Brian Plants for their words of kindness and help in the Cancer Radiation Treatment Center at Thomas Memorial Hospital. Those that gave relentless support from Hospice House West, your deeds of caring and laborious hours of help will always be remembered.
