Raymond “Richard” Smith, 68 of Elkview, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 21st, 2023, at CAMC Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in the woods, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1974. During his life, we worked at E.I. DuPont, Chilton House, and the Ramada Inn of South Charleston.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Beatrice Smith, brother-in-law Samuel Shinn and sister-in-law Debbie Smith. He is survived by his siblings Sharon “Sue” Shinn, Gary H. Smith, and Anita Moles (James), uncles, aunts, cousins, countless friends, nephews, nieces, and his loyal companion, Bubby.

The service will begin 1pm, Thursday, February 23, 2023, with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service..
