Obituary for Kevin Matthew Nichols

Kevin Matthew Nichols,

Kevin Matthew Nichols, 51, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of September 25, 2021 while at work at Kroger in Cross Lanes, due to a massive heart attack.

Co workers & paramedics were unable to resuscitate him and he was then taken to Thomas Memorial Hospital where we met as a family being with him for a time. Our hearts are hurting and we are already missing that huge smile of his.

Kevin was born November 4, 1969 at Charleston General Hospital. He loved his family, especially his sister, Julie, whom he was so close too. He believed in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kevin enjoyed working at Kroger, and had over thirty plus years of service. He loved his cat "Boo". He enjoyed loved watching his movies. Star Wars was his favorite.

Kevin lived and walked to the beat of his own drum. He was his own person. He enjoyed lifting weights.

He was the son of Ray A Cassell (step father) and Linda Dianne (Ferrell, Nichols) Cassell. He is survived by his parents; Sister Julie Anne (Nichols) Jones ( Don) of Charleston, WV; Step sister Christina Marie Cassell (Terry) of Omaha, NE; Brother Adam Ray Cassell (Jessica) of Elkview, WV. Nephews Bradley, Brian, Marshall, nieces Mickenzie & Courtney. Aunt Louise (Ferrell) Mundy ( Mitchell). Cousins April (Mundy)Jackson (Brian) & their children Kaylee and Madison. He was one married, divorced, leaving no children.

Kevin was awake & helped to awaken members of his family to the many things going on in this world. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. None of us are perfect but imperfection is made perfect in the Lord.

Romans 15:7 - Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Christ accepts you as is, flaws and all. He doesn't require your perfection, because he is the only one who can be completely without sin. His acceptance of you can help you accept others with their flaws as well.
Special thanks to all who have helped and supported the family with prayers, thoughts, comments & food. It is much appreciated.

A celebration of life will begin at 1pm, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the American Legion Post 107 building, of Ripley WV. Internment will be at Clendenin Memorial Gardens.
