May God’s light, mercy, and grace be with each of you well as the days ahead as you push through this wreckage of pain. May He wrap you in His arms with love that only He can give in times of sorrow. Grief is not linear. Time may soften things to some extent as time, days, and year go by...but sometime, out of the blue, something might happen in your day; you may see something, hear something, or even smell something that will trigger a memory of Sandy. Everyone goes through a process of grief in their own way. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and their is no time limit on grief, everyone grieves differently. The truth is the pain never goes away when you love someone so deeply, it just shifts around and within you. It will bring good days and bad. Don’t push the feelings aside...feel them, and move on one second, one minute, one hour, and one day at a time. Some people think that grief is over in a month or a year. They don’t understand that it is a process. People have good intentions and will say things like...I know how you feel, or I wish I could take your pain away ect., but the truth is they don’t know what they are saying...would they be willing to loose one of their loved ones to know how that pain feels? I think not! People will say many hurtful things not even realizing it, because they don’t know what to say, they hate to see you hurting, so they feel they need to say something, instead of just being there, just praying, just showing support. Even if someone has been through the same, or similar situation, the truth is they still will never know how you feel, because each relationship is different with the one that you love.
So take what is encouraging, helpful, and loving, and let the rest go. We may not get to see each other, or talk like we used to when we were growing up, but just know I love you all very much, and you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Our deepest sympathies to all of you as you try to process Sandy’s death. 💔✝️🙏🏼🥀😘💔
