Obituary for Donald Mason Ferrell
Donald (Mason) Ferrell of Dutch Ridge WV, born April 3,1981, died in the hospital from complications of COVID on April 20, 2021, at the age of 40. He was battling cancer and a failing liver.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He was a very cheerful spirit, full of life and love. He enjoyed fishing, riding ATVs, and working on anything with a motor. He truly loved his wife of 20 years, Sandy Ferrell (who passed just 4 days after him), his mother, siblings, children and grandchildren. He accepted Christ into his heart just 3 weeks before his passing, a decision that he was very proud of.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Donald Mason Harris (Red). He is survived by his mother Charlotte Ann Butcher; his grandmother Patsy Tyler; his daughters Courtney Ferrell, Britney Ferrell, Sydney Slater, and Jillian Slater; his grandchildren Arianna Shelton, Tristen Roseberry, Keegan and Zayden Robinson-Box, and Gunner Lowe; his siblings John Harris, Geniavive Foster, Devona Thompson, Lewis Gloeckner, Kathy Harding, and Kimberly Aleshire; the four-legged love of his life, Tiki; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00PM-3:00PM on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Hafer Funeral Home.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic in our state, it is mandated by the Governor and the CDC that proper facial coverings be worn and that social distancing be observed.
The family is asking for cash donations, rather than flowers, to be sent to Hafer Funeral Home. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and very helpful as Mason had no life insurance.
