Dessie "Gertrude" Schoolcraft, 98, of Elkview went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2019. She was born September 29, 1921 to the late Robert and Margaret Paxton. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Gertrude loved to spend time outside working on her flower garden and enjoying nature.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude is preceded in death by the love of her life husband, Lee A. Schoolcraft; brothers, John and Edward Paxton; sisters, Nina Stout, Elsie (Noah) Salisbury, Helen (Donald) Brown, Beauatice Lantz and brother-in-law, Dale Leavitt.

Gertrude is survived by her sister, Geraldean Leavitt; nephew, Tom Schoolcraft and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special appreciation to Joe Hoover for his assistance over the years.

A service honoring Gertrude's Life will be held 1:00PM Monday, December 30, 2019, at Hafer Funeral Home with
Pastor Cherrie Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
