Obituary for Dolores Ellen "Dodie" Buhl (Crede)
Dolores (Dodie) Crede Buhl, 81, of Pinch, West Virginia passed peacefully on November 14, 2019 to be with her heavenly father.
Dodie was born in Charleston, West Virginia to Harry and Christine Wiersteiner Crede on May 4, 1938 and she was the eighth of nine children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Buhl, sisters Thelma Minnig, Genevieve Sweeney, Mary Ann Evans, Jane Gower, her brother John Crede and step grandson Michael Hammond.
Dodie is survived by her brother Harry Crede and sisters Mildred Minnig and Midge Butler, stepchildren Kathy Retzel, Linda Buhl, Robert Buhl, Laura Hammond, two granddaughters Kasey and Lauren and a great granddaughter Sophia. Dodie had thirty five nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews with whom she was extremely close.
Dodie was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School, a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Women's Bowling Association. She was employed with Potterfield Realty for over twenty years and the Bechtel Engineering.
Dodie volunteered her time at church functions and LERMA.
After her marriage to Charles, his work took them to various states including three years in Oslo, Norway then back to retire in West Virginia.
Dodie had a great sense of humor, she loved working in her yard and flower garden, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and cooking Sunday dinners for Harry and Midge.
A Mass of Christian burial officiated by Father Tijo George will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 at noon at our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, Pinch, West Virginia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial service will be at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 4084 Indian Creek Road, Elkview, WV 25071.
