Jimmy Lewis Young, 81, of Elkview went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 11, 2019.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodwork. He worked for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 625 of Charleston. Jim had a passion for helping others, and during his life, did a lot of work on both Elkview Baptist Church and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lunda and Hestel Young; brother, Jerry Young; and sisters, Welda Whitlock and Mary Hunt.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ramona Young; son, J. Stephen and Crystal Young; daughter, Kimberly and Bill Schoolcraft; brothers, Jack Young and Franklin Young; sisters, Peggy Capps and Rita Ingram; grandchildren, Jeffrey Young, Matthew Rahim, and Laura (Rahim) Norris; and great grandchildren, Chloe Young and Harper Norris.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Young Cemetery with Pastor Lee Swor officiating.
