Edith Gay Weaver Yarbrough was born June of 1932, the fifth of ten children, to the late Oscar L. and Edna M. Weaver. She died peacefully with her children around her on May 25,2019. She has joined her husband of 50 years, Herman Yarbrough who preceded her in death.
Edith retired from the Kmart Corporation with 25 plus years of service. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and mostly the time with her family. She enjoyed the Christmas season with them celebrating, baking, and just being together. She was always kind and caring and had many friends during her lifetime.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Yarbrough, Penny Bowers (Ted) and Mark Yarbrough (Becky); grandchildren, Brandi, Laura, Joshua, Jackson, McKenzie, John and Crystal; great grandchildren, Shelby, Joey, Quade, Brock, Jacob, Avery, Becca, Tyler and Kayla.
She is also survived by four sisters, Malily, Bernice, Virginia Dare, and Betty all of Harrisonburg, VA.
Services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 28 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Barton. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
