Rosemarie "Rosie" Dorothea Hypes, 93, of Elkview passed away peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Center.
Rosemarie was born in Fall, Germany and worked as a phone operator for the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. There she met her late husband of 41 years, Franklin J. Hypes. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Rosemarie worked for the South Charleston, Krogers, for 42 years.
She is also preceded in death by her sister, Traudel Zach.
Rosemarie is survived by her loving sons, Fred Hypes and wife Elizabeth, and Wayne Hypes, and wife Jessica; twin sister, Dorothy Smith; sister, Hilda Bumberger; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hafer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens.
Family will welcome visitors Wednesday, March 13, beginning 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
