Charles Samples Canterbury, 88, of Charleston passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired Chemical Operator with Dupont at the Belle plant and had worked for twenty one years with Rollyson Motors. He was of the Advent Christian faith. He loved to travel, work on antique cars, restore engines, and body restoration.
He is preceded in death by parents; Samuel and Lillie Canterbury; sisters, Kathryn Jones, and Grace Thomas; brother, James Herbert.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Charlotte Pauley Canterbury; daughters, Debra Lupian (Mike) of Albany, NY, Judy Fuller (Troy) of Austin, TX; grandchildren Justin Fuller, Michael Lupian (Kelly), Katie Young (Tim), and Hannah Lupian, great-grandchildren, Lily, Wesley, Charlie, and Annie.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, March 7th at Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home 100 Verna Drive Elkview, WV 25071. with Pastor Rick Sams officiating.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 6th from 6-8pm at Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home.
