Obituary for Dollie Geneive Wines
Dollie Geneive Reed Wines, 88, of Elkview, went to her heavenly home Friday, March 1, 2019.
She was born in Elkview to her late parents, Levi and Maysel Reed. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth Ray Wines; three brothers, Ollie, Cloddie, and Junior Reed; and three sisters, Myrtle Spencer, Mary Spencer, and Anne Carpenter.
Dollie was a very loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed going to church and used to sing in a gospel group. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and enjoyed sharing her seeds and cuttings with friends and family. Dollie was known for her quilting and has made many patterns and designs over the years for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Turley, Linda (Jerry) Smith, and Kathey (Chuck) Huffman; sons, Kenneth (Melinda) Wines and Gene Wines; sister-in-law and best friend, Bessie Reed; sister-in-law, Betty Wheatcraft; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was the last living member of the Levi and Maysel Reed family with many surviving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Julie Meadows and Kim Meadows for their love and kindness in taking care of their mother.
A service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, beginning 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
