Cathy Jean Landers Batten, 58, of Elkview went home to be the Lord, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Charleston, to her late parents, Junior and Jacquelyn Landers.
Cathy was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. She loved to cook, travel, spend time at the beach, and always had a dream of opening her own restaurant. Cathy was a 40 year employee with American Electric Power and she was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
She is survived by her caring husband of 39 years, Bill Batten; son, Bryan Batten and wife Emily; brother, Max Landers and wife Joyce; nephew, C.J. Landers; and sister, Cynthia White and husband Gary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
The service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
