David Edward Hunt
1936 – 2019

David Edward Hunt of Blue Creek, passed away at CAMC General on January 10, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (Smith) Hunt, his parents Elmer B. and Grace (Mundy) Hunt, and his sisters Reba Allen, Bobby McLaughlin, Bernice Foster, and Linda Taylor.
He is survived by his children David T. Hunt (Carol) of Pennington, NJ, and Kelly D. Collins (James) of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Grimes, David Hunt, and Molly Hunt and 3 great-grandsons. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Sue Lynn of Tornado, and Sandy Holmes of South Charleston.
David was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, working for Bell Lines, Smith Transfer, and Yellow Freight. After retirement, he was determined to remain active. He worked for the Kanawha County School Board for several years and was known by the students as “Pop Pop”.
He was a loving husband and father with a ready smile and a generous heart. He died peacefully in his sleep with his children beside him.
