Obituary for Steven D James

Steven Duane James

Steven Duane James, 55, of Big Chimney went home to be with our Lord on Nov 30, 2018 following a long illness.

Steve was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his mother and father, Bill and Nancy James.

Steve was adored by many. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Theressa James their six children, Steven James II, Heather (Bruce) Fittro, Billie Jo (Kevin) Edwards, Theresa (Scott) Moats, Billie Jo (Bill) Moore and Michael (Marlaina) Walker, brother Ed James and Sister Kim Belcher

Steve's legacy will continue on in his 14 grandchildren, Logan, Brandon, Makayla, Brent, Kaley, Paige, Gabe, Kingston, Noah, Audrey, Alivia, Isaiah, Lillie, Lukah and two great grandchildren, Jaxon and Bella.

Steve loved everything music. He was a long time musician/song writer. He enjoyed playing guitars, and singing with his daughters, family and friends. He loved to joke and "cut up" with everyone. He never let the truth get in the way of a good story! His laughter was contagious. Steve enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, wood working and riding on the ridge, taking every back road he could find. When his health began to fade and he could no longer get out, he began crafting. He made many different keepsakes for his friends and family. He very much enjoyed gathering up the things he had made and delivering them at his appointments or going to the drug store.

The family would like to thank Hubbard Hospice House, West for the love and care they gave Steve.

Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Belcher officiating. Burial will be in the Hayes Cemetery, Young's Bottom.
