Obituary for Carma Lee Mooney (Moles)

Carma Lee Mooney, 86, of Elkview, passed away after a long illness, on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell; son, Leonard; parents, Irene and Hayward Moles; and brother-in-law, James Moffatt.

Carma Lee is survived by her daughter, Becky Christiansen of Elkview, sister, Phyllis Moffatt of Elkview, grandchildren, Jamie (Christina) Mooney, Chris (Tina) Mooney, all of Elkview, Tracy (Margaret) of Florida, Jodi (Eric) Shaver of Georgia, Megan White of Florida and Matthew Christiansen of Michigan. She was blessed with twelve great- grandchildren.

Carma Lee retired with 38 years of service to the Rite Aid Corporation having all those years spent at the Elkview Rite-Aid store. She enjoyed reading books pertaining to the Amish way of life and loved going to the Amish country in Ohio with her sister, Phyllis. She enjoyed watching sports, whether it be her grandson, Jamie dirt biking, or both Jamie and Chris playing football, baseball and of course, watching WVU and Marshall football. In the last few years, she has loved watching her great-grandson, Adam play baseball and basketball and hated missing a game. She made several trips to Alaska to visit her daughter and couldn't wait to go back to West Virginia and talk about her experiences with her many friends and customers at Rite-Aid.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Hospice House in South Charleston for exceptional care given, but especially to Miss Nurse Elizabeth! Thank you, Elizabeth for everything, you are truly an angel from God!

Service will be held 11:00am Monday, November 19th at the Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will be at the Baxter Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Darrell, son, Leonard, and parents, Irene and Hayward, as well her protector and best friend for many years, K9 Missy.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, November 18th, at the Myers Chapel of Hafer Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
