Donna M. "Ike" Tawney
Donna M. "Ike" Tawney, 85, of Clendenin passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
Ike was a homemaker, and a grandmother to hundreds of kids that she baby sat over the years. She supported Herbert Hoover High School through the years, working the concession stands, helping out with project graduations, and enjoyed going on the band trips.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dwight Tawney; son, John Tawney; brothers, Ray "Dick", Brooks, Tom, Herman, Pat E., Wherley "Ladd" Shamblin; sisters, Della Taylor, Georgia Smith, Edith "Cricket" Kelly, Madeline Shamblin, Regetta Jean Thacker.
Ike is survived by her grandchildren, Brian Tawney, Michael (Danielle) Tawney, CJ (Julie) Tawney; daughter-in-law, Kathy Tawney, sister, Lucy Newhouse of Clendenin; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylyn, Jonathan "J-Bird", Abby.
Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with the Minister Doug Shamblin officiating. Burial will be in the Tawney Family Cemetery, Clendenin.
Visitation will be 12-2pm Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the family, and friends who spent time with her and the family in her final days at Hospice.
