Obituary for Freda Irene Stricker

Freda Irene Stricker, 99, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Tennova in Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Cecil E. Stricker, and 10 brothers and sisters.

She was one of the sweetest, kindest, most gentle creatures God gave to the world. In her quiet way, she set the standard for the goodness that is in all of us.

Born Feb. 7, 1919, to Maggie Anderson Buckner and James Madison Buckner of Mill Creek, she lived in Pinch from 1948 to 2004, when she moved to Knoxville, TN. Freda was a founding member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Pinch.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Sharon (Sherry) Littlepage (Jim) of Lexington, VA; David M. Stricker (Lin) of Burns, TN. Grandsons: Scott Frazier of Knoxville, TN; Dr. Thomas Stricker (Stefanie) of Nashville, TN; Adam Stricker (Ramona) of Ann Arbor, MI; and Eric Littlepage (Anastasia) of Washington, DC. Great-grandchildren: Reilly, Katharine, and Aidan Stricker of Nashville, TN; Maria and Elenor Stricker of Ann Arbor, MI; many nieces and nephews, and wonderful neighbors in the Pinch community.

The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers at Shannondale, who were so kind to her during her long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Oct 24, 2018, at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Rev. Jim Robinson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 868, Pinch, WV 25156.
