Richard S. Kennedy, 84, of Blue Creek passed away on Friday, Oct 19, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was the owner of Kennedy Construction Company, attended New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene, Pinch. Richard grew up in Sanderson, and rode the train to Elkview High School, where he met his wife, June.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley Ray Kennedy and Olive Virginia Holt Kennedy, brother, Harley Ray Kennedy, Jr. and a granddaughter.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Anna June Kennedy; sons, Jim (Mary) Kennedy of Elkview, Randy (Trena) Kennedy of Elkview, Terry (Mary) Kennedy of Elkview; brother, Robert Kennedy of Parkersburg; sister, Betty Carnes of Elkview; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, Oct 24, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Arbogast officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
