Obituary for Leo Edward Elkins

Leo Edward Elkins, 72, of Pinch, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston after a extended and lengthy illness.

Leo went into the Air Force in 1964 right after graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School. He was a Sgt. of the Military Police in Vietnam, after serving his country until 1968. Then started a lifelong career with Walker Machinery until retirement in 2012.

He was a avid pool player and loved to golf, then watched once his health declined. He loved his Mountaineers.

Leo is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Edward Elkins; mother, Wilma Elizabeth Elkins; daughters, Tammi Elkins, Sherri Massey; sisters, JoAnn Clark, Georgia Brewer; sister-in-law, Rachel Elkins; great granddaughter, Sadie Jo.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Cathy Elkins the love of his life. Step-children, Soni Huffman, Jo Livingston, Tommy Livingston; grandchildren, Hunter Massey, Keven Pitsenbarger, Hannah Hoelscher, Colbie Pitsenbarger, Jacob Huffman, Cole Livingston, Dyllan Livingston, great grandson, Chase Workman, great granddaughter, Khloe Hoelscher; brother, Arthur Ray Elkins of San Angelo, TX; sister, Earnestine(Tom)Piggott of Pocatalico.

Leo attended Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Pinch when his health allowed.

Service will be 1pm Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Kinder officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 at the funeral home.
