Obituary for James Clifford "Bo" Koontz

James C. Koontz (Bobo as he was fondly known by all) of Nitro, formerly of Dutch Ridge, passed away Sept. 30 at Charleston General Hospital.

He was preceded in death by loving wife Linda of 54 years; father, Arthur T. Sr. and mother, Josephine F. Koontz; brothers, Francis M. (Frank) Koontz Sr., Arthur T. (Benny) Koontz Jr., sisters, Ruth Carnefix, Nancy Carnefix and Evelyn Norman, grandson Clifford of NC.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Willis of NC.; grandchildren Christina Willis and Jeremy Willis of NC and great grandchildren Zachary Earl, Alyssa Lynn, Grace Kathleen, Macie Elizabeth, Malakai Clifford, Liam Richard all of NC., and many loving nephews and nieces.

Bo was an avid musician. He was a member of the Bluegrass Band Greenbrier River Boys playing banjo. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife, daughter, and family.

He faithfully and bravely served his country in the US Army. Bo loved to tinker and was a mechanic when he retired from Hurricane Truck.

Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at the Hafer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Norvell officiating. Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery, Blue Creek.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at the funeral home.

Military rites will be presented by the American Legion, Clendenin Post 61.
