Obituary for William Curt Anderson

William Curtis Anderson, 91, of Charleston went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Curtis was born March 5, 1927 in Roane County to the late Milford and Chloe Anderson.

He served in the Navy and was a World War II veteran. He retired from Laborers Local 1353, having worked for Charleston Clay products and Trojan Steel.

He was a Christian and would testify to anyone who came in contact with him. He was a original member of Jordan Mound Gospel Tabernacle and attended there until he moved to Charleston in 2001 and then attended Providence Baptist Church. He is being buried in the pants he was saved in over 60 years ago. This was suggested to Curtis by Micki Burrows a home health care nurse.

Curtis was preceded in death by the love of his life for 61 years Martha Leona Strickland Anderson. After Leona's death Curtis married Frances Jordan Anderson whom passed away after four month of marriage. He is also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Rose Anderson; brothers, Roy, Virgil, Brooks; sisters, Virgie Hayes, Velda Hayes(twin sister), Vera Wagner, Virginia Coleman.

He is survived by sons, Curtis Ray (Lynn) of Dunbar, Fred "Bub" of Sevierville, TN, daughter, Cathy (Randy) Dobbins of Charleston; grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany) Anderson of South Charleston, Natalie Anderson of Schroon Lake, NY, Tracy (Ronnie) Newman of Sevierville, TN, Chad (Felicia) Dobbins of Charleston; great grandchildren, Jaedeen, Brandon and Ryan Anderson, Sierra and Jurnee Synammon, Jacob and Caleb hughey.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tressie who was a blessing to the Anderson family. No words can express our appreciation for her kindness and dedication to our Dad.

Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Bradley officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney, with military graveside rites.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, Sept 25, 2018 at the funeral home.
