Sylvia Mae Asbury, 85, of Charleston passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Sylvia was born to the late Fred Jarvis and Leona Jarvis. She was also preceded in death by her sister; Maxine "Mac" Ann Evans; brothers, Fred Jarvis and Donald Jarvis; and Larry Jarvis.
Sylvia was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She was a founding member and active volunteer at the Elkview Community Center. She was also a lifetime member of the Pinch VFW Post 8516.
She is survived by her sons, Barry "Skip" Robin Asbury, Kenneth "Kenny" Asbury, and Keith D. Asbury; grandchildren, Adam and Camron Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to your choice of the Pinch VFW Post 8516 of Pinch, or to the Elkview Community Center of Elkview.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Thomas Medical Pavilion, 4th Flr., for there care during her extended hospital stay.
In honor of Sylvia's wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
