Helen Taylor, 68, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Helen was a member of the Clendenin Pentecostal Church. During her journey in life she helped as a teachers aide at Bridge elementary school, worked with the AWANA program for children at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and volunteered to cook and serve food to the elderly in Clendenin. Helen always had a smile and a willingness to help others.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Bratton and America Hayes and her brother, Charlie Hayes.
She is survived by her husband William Taylor of Charleston; daughters, Tammy Goff and companion James Durbin of Big Chimney, and Crystal Rucker and companion Thomas Dillon of Mink Shoals; sons, James Rucker and companion April Holmes of Falling Rock and Mike Rucker of Falling Rock; brothers, Eugene Hayes of Elkview, and Delbert Hayes and wife Tina of Quick; sisters, Rose Rucker of Clendenin, Dorothy Rucker of Falling Rock, and Leola Jones and husband Steve of Dutch Ridge; grandchildren, Anthony Goff, Shyanne Rucker, Derrick Rucker, Zayah Rucker, Sarah Rucker, Haven Rucker, and Miley Rucker.
A service will be 2:00 pm, Sunday May 20, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Walker officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery, Pinch.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
