Thayer Lowell Dodd, 86, of Elkview, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Thayer was a member and ordained elder of the Bethel Primitive Advent Christian Church for over 50 years. He worked for Union Carbide and retired after 37 years of service. He also was an antique car enthusiast.

He was born in Walton, to the late Arley and Vesta Dodd. He is also preceded in death by his son, Dewey Dodd, and brother, Don Dodd.

Surviving is his loving wife for 66 years, Alma Lou Dodd; son, Randy (Cindy) Dodd of Elkview; daughter, Angela (Ron) Allen of Lincolnton, N.C.; brother, David Dodd of Charleston; sister; Kay Wehrle of Elkview; daughter-in-law; Karen Dodd and her family of Lincolnton, N.C., 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the WVU children's hospital at Attn: Child Life 1 Medical Center Dr. Box 8200 Morgantown, WV 26506.

A service will be held 2pm Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
