Nicholas Wayne Kessel

Nicholas "Nick" Wayne Kessel, 31, of Elkview passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017.

"Nick" formally worked for JWood Contracting and was a member of IUOE 132. He was the great outdoorsman. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and cook. He also loved boating, swimming, kayaking, camping, four wheeling and skiing. If you have ever been around a lake, river or creek you have probably seen Nick at some point and time. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He had attended Herbert Hoover High School and played on the football team.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Prouse, father, Buster Kessel, stepdad, Greg Dent; grandfather, John "Wes" Prouse; grandmother, Dorothy Cummings; aunt, Kathy Moles, nieces, Callie and Amber; aunt, Wanda Bullard; cousin who was like a brother, John Hodge, and Brandi, Lele. Also surviving are many other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
