Obituary for Leroy Flowers

Leroy Flowers, 87, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth Lowe Flowers, died Friday afternoon, November 11, 2016, at his home and surrounded by his family.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Roy Flowers and the late Carney Jones Flowers. Mr. Flowers was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired demolition expert. Mr. Flowers was a member of Kanawha Lodge #20, the Scottish Rite, and was a 50 year member of Beni Kedem Shrine Temple. He loved spending time with his family and was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth Lowe Flowers; five daughters, Debby Flowers, Cindi Hedrick, Kathie Miller, Sherry Flowers and Gayla Flowers; two grandchildren, Travis Bare and Jeremy Flowers; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Bare, Lukas Flowers and Luna Flowers; a special friend, Nancy Crittenden, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the graveside, Jones & Flowers Cemetery in Elkview West Virginia.

The family would like to say “thank you” to Hospice Savannah for the wonderful care given to Mr. Flowers.
