Hellen Price Young, 90, of Three Mile, Blue Creek passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
She was a member of the Three Mile Wesleyan Church and the Three Mile Busy Homemakers Club. Hellen was greatly loved and respected by all the people she met and knew. Children in the community knew that they could come to her home for a good cooked meal and be treated just like family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar "Pete" Young, parents, William Henry Price and Emma Catherine Keeten Price, also six brothers and six sisters.
Hellen is survived by her children, Edgar H. Young, Jr. of Vero Beach, Fla., Clyde S. Young of Elkview, Karen J. Lowers of Elkview, Audry K. Shaffer of Spencer; sister, Louise Graham of Queen Shoals; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be for family and close friends at 1:00 pm Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney with Pastor Billy Burdette officiating. Burial will follow at cemetery after the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kanawha Hospice Care and the Kanawha/Charleston Animal Shelter.
