David Lewis Edens

David Lewis Edens 64, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

He was a Auxiliary member for seven years at Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, giving years of care to all the Cedar Grove Fireman such as keeping supplies at station, running errands and making sure the guys had food and drinks, if out on a long response. He loved people, worked with the Little League at Cedar Grove, loved hunting and fishing. He established cable service on Frame Road (Frame Cable Co.) in 1976. He worked on the railroad for Valley Coal Co. at Cedar Grove.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents J. L. and Josie Edens, Sigel Moore and Eva Dodd Moore all of Elkview.

He is survived by his son, Allen Edens of Florence, Ala; daughter Christina Beckman (Jason) of Florence, Ala.; parents John E. Edens and Reva Moore Edens; sisters Diana Fraser of Dry Fork, WV; Debbie Fields (Jim) of Pinch; grandchildren Hunter Edens, Logan, Caleb, Josie Beckman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Hafer Funeral Home with Danny McClung officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park in Big Chimney. Honorary Pallbearers will be from Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
