Alice Carol Nottingham Vaughan
Alice Carol Nottingham Vaughan of Duck formerly of Quick went to be with the Lord, her husband and sons on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, her 75th birthday.
Her parents along with two sisters welcomed Carol into this life on Nov. 20, 1939. She and Roger Vaughan of Ivydale married on June 22, 1957. They bought a home in Quick in 1966 and raised three sons there. She attended Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church until moving to Duck in 2013. Carol had many friends and acquaintances in Quick/Clendenin/Elkview having lived in the same house for 47 years.
She is preceded by her husband of 53 years Roger L. Vaughn, sons; Robert, Brian and Lawrence "Pete"; Earl and Lena Paintiff Nottingham of Duck.
Survived by granddaughter, Sarah Buckland; two great granddaughters: Callie Carte and Khloe Mullins and a great-grandson: Evan Carte; sisters, Marian Nicholas(Rupert) of Duck and Eva Schmidlin (Don) of Maiden, NC; brothers, Ralph Nottingham (Dianne) of Duck, Roy Nottingham of Camp Hill, PA and Rodney Nottingham (Fran) of Elkview.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, May 2nd at Mount Tabor Methodist Church, Pinch, with Pastor Danny Kinder officiating.
