Herbert Alfred Hunt, 89, Elkview passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was a retired Supervisor with Union Carbide and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Herbert worked evenings and attended WV State College where he graduated with two degrees. He attended Charleston Baptist Temple for several years, loved golfing and planning reunions for his High School Class of 1946, his family and the 449th Army Batallion. Herbert also volunteered for many years at the public library assisting senior citizens with tax preperation.
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey McKinley Hunt, Sr. and Buna Myrtle Stalnaker Hunt; siblings, Leo Leonard Hunt, Chauncey McKinley Hunt, Jr., Don Clifton Hunt, Dietz Dean Hunt, Levi Edison Hunt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Gertrude (White)Hunt; brothers, Paul Payson Hunt and Oliver Richard Hunt.
Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Elk River Church of the Nazarene, Charleston with Pastor Randy Ledsome and Dr. Jim Hewitt officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Hafer Funeral Home.
