Cecil Ferrell Starcher, 72, of Charleston, passed away, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at CAMC Memorial, Charleston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ferrell Starcher; wife, Shirley Jean Tasker; grandson, Joshua.
Cecil is survived by his daughters, Jeri Lynn Starcher of Ga., Holly Jean (Jimmy) Webb of Ga., mother, Pearly Alice Sirks Cutlip; brother, David Starcher of Mink Shoals; sister, Linda Powell of Ga., grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob; great grandchild, Lilah Jane.
Earlier in life: Cecil served as Executive Director of the Community Action Agency in Roane County; loved music and performed with the band Joshua singing, playing the guitar & harmonica; enhanced his skills as a photographer and acted on his passion of all matters political.
During retirement, Cecil was active in several coin clubs in West Virginia & Ohio; he enthusiastically promoted his love of coin collecting, sharing his vast knowledge and encouraging anyone who showed interest in coin collecting. Cecil conducted wide-ranging research of the Starcher Family Tree, created a web site documenting his findings which, most likely, represents the most extensive genealogical records of the Starcher family.
Per Cecil’s wishes, there will be no services. Remembrances may be made in Cecil’s memory to the charity of your choice.
