Obituary for Claude Lonnie Slate Sr.

Claude L. Slate Sr. 80, of Clendenin went home Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

He served his country in the US Army as a tank driver, was a truck driver for Kroger and WV Steel for 37 years, and was a member of the Teamsters Union 175.

To join him at a later date, is his wife Sylvia "Mickey"; children, Kathe, Ilesa, and Claude II "Chip"; sister, Minnie Lightner; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a lot of nieces, nephews and dancing friends.

As per his wishes, a memorial service will be held 12pm, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Hafer Funeral

Home with pastor Robert Fields officiating. Afterwards, he will be cremated and taken for one last four-wheeler ride "on the hill" where his ashes will be scattered.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
