Karol Lee (Bud) Jeffries, 79, of Sissonville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born August 14, 1938, in Ramp, WV, to the late Jesse Lee and Madie Christine (Hinkle) Jeffries. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Lynn and one brother, Melvin Jeffries.
Bud was a hard working family man. He had worked various jobs throughout his lifetime, from owning his own Sunoco garage/gas station, to a coal miner and finally retiring as a cross country truck driver working for companies such as Shaffer Trucking and North American Van Lines. He was very proud of his Native American heritage and designed and crafted custom jewelry reflecting such. He was a true outdoorsman who built everything on his farm, affectionately named Rosebud Acres, including his own house. He enjoyed having horses and cattle on his farm. At any given time, Bud could be found driving tractor, cutting wood, making his own tools or working in his garden. He was best known for his wood working ability. Along with his son in-law, Marc, Bud designed and built his own casket.
He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He was well known for his sense of humor and his ability to stretch a tall tale while making others laugh. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Those who loved and knew him best will remember his laughter, his determination, and his love for the outdoors.
Bud is survived by daughters Bernadine “Bea” Cummings (Randy), Sharon Nichols, Lynada Woods and Lisa Turley (Marc), nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Naoma Miraglia and Joyce Bea.
A service to honor the life of Bud will be Monday, December 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., in his home located at 108 Rosebud Acres, Sissonville. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Reverend Aubrey Thomas will be officiating, and burial will be at Rosebud Acres.
