Virgie Ann Gandee, 76, of Nitro formerly of Kenna, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was retired from Better Foods, Inc. Virgie loved having lunches with the girls, being with her family, and playing with her pet, "Miss Kitty". She also enjoyed planting and taking care of her flower garden.
Virgie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Charles Gandee; parents, Charles and Kathleen Robinson Wimer; brother, Charles Wimer, Jr., sister, Lucille (Tom) Hancock.
She is survived by son, Arnie (Julie) Craigo, brother, William "Bucky" (Jane) Wimer, sister-in-law, Claudia Wimer; grandchildren, Charles Arnie (Kayla) Craigo, Caren Anne Craigo, Steven Shelton; great grandchildren, Lillianna and Hunter Shelton; and one special niece and several nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be sent to Kanawha Hospice Care. A special thank you to her friends, Ruth and Jerry Sutphin; and Jo, April, and Holly of Hospice, for the wonderful care they provided.
Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, Nov 20, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Burdette officiating. Burial will be in the Kennedy Cemetery, Sanderson.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
