Barbara J. Edwards, 76, of Elkview, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 after a short illness, at Cedar Ridge Center, Charleston.
Barbara was born August 10, 1941 to the late Walter L. and Naomi J. Robertson. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all that knew her. Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Elkview High School and later moved and worked in California as an accountant for over 30 years. She was a beautiful seamstress and a very caring person.
Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Don Godbey and her grandchild Jessica.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James Edwards; sisters, Bonnie Godbey and Linda Gentry and brother-in-law Bruce; daughter, Patty; grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle, and Josh; 3 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; cousin, Carolyn Seafler, and many nieces and nephews, and her little companion "Missy".
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
A service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, October 30, 2017 at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Edens officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
The family especially would like to thank all of the staff at Cedar Ridge Center, Charleston, for all of their kind care and loving compassion given to Barbara.
