Brooks Clyde Shamblin,

Brooks Clyde Shamblin, 88, of Clendenin went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House West.

Brooks was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a very hard worker and retired from Union Carbide. Brooks loved to go horseback riding, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rome and Stella Shamblin, five brothers and five sisters.
Brooks is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Mary Shamblin; sons, Mike (Donna) Shamblin, William (Tuwana) Ellis, and Donald (Alice) Ellis; daughters, Susan (John) Smith, Regan Melton & Donald Fields, Lisa (Jeff) Hoover, Vivian (Ricky) Hager, Louella (Joseph) Myers, Shana (Jenny) Elswick; sisters, Lucy May Newhouse and Donna Tawney, twenty grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren; and life-long friend Wes Marks.

Service will be 4:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Stewart officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
