Imogene "Gene" Withaar, 77, of Elkview passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at CAMC General Hospital with her family by her side.

She was a former teacher and clerical for the State of Arizona. Imogene was a member of the Lone Mountain Baptist Church, TN, Elks Lodge and Eagles Club in Arizona. Gene enjoyed going shopping, traveling, and spending time with grandkids.

Gene is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Monroe; second husband, Donald Withaar; companion, Charles Storey. Her parents, Willard Asher and Ernie Brown Asher; siblings, Howard "Bugo" Asher, Clyde Asher, Lois Carson, Dellis Walker, Pauline Brown, Christine Kidd, infant, siblings, Russell and Virgie.

Surviving is son, Steve (Trudy) Monroe of Elkview; daughter, Sherry (Randy) Strunk of Tenn.; grandchildren, Brian (Penny) Strunk and Chris (Natasha) Strunk of Pioneer, TN, Steven Monroe of Hurricane, Adam Monroe of Belpre, OH, Cash Monroe and Leland Monroe of Elkview; great grandchildren, Jon Strunk, Brady Strunk, Calyn Buttram. She is also survived by many friends, family and neighbors.

Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Strunk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
