Mary Elizabeth Smith
Mary Elizabeth Smith, of Elkview, WV took her heavenly flight home on July 5, 2017. She was born to the late Howard and Hester Carte on March 29, 1949. Mary was a member of Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church where she held the position of church secretary, but her involvement with church went far beyond that position. She loved her church, family, and her friends. She enjoyed helping her husband with his wood turning business. Her other hobbies included sewing and weaving baskets.
Mary is proceeded in death by her brother John Carte, left to carry on her memory is her husband of 46 years Joseph Smith, son and daughter in law Neil and Missy Smith, her grandchildren Hope and Aaron Smith, brother Ernie Carte and sister Inez Milam.

Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday July 9, 2017 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Underwood officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Carte Cemetery, Big Fork WV.
