Obituary for James Franklin Jordan

James Jordan, 82, of Big Chimney passed away at home Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with his family by his side.

Jim was born on November 18, 1934 in Charleston, W.V. to the late, Rev. Raymond and Mildred Jordan. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Edens.

Jim was a kind and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family.

He served in the West Virginia Air National Guard and began working for Ted Keifer Carpet. He was a proud owner of Jordan's Carpet Service for over twenty years. He was the coach of the Girls Elk District Softball team for over eight years and was a member of the Elk River Coon Hunters Association. Jim was avid fisherman and hunter whom enjoyed camping and on Sunday's loved watching football and NASCAR with our mother.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Welda Jean Jordan; daughters, Teresa Miller and Pete Wallace of Elkview and Terri Jordan of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Brittany (Jonathan) Abshire of Charleston, Halea (Gustavo) Solano of Zebulon, N.C., and Zachary Boswell of Williamston, N.C.; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Moore of Elkview; great grandsons, Owen Abshire, Dominik Solano, and Mikael Solano; step great-grandsons, Trey Warner, Justice Warner, and Derrick Tew and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Janet, Jo, and Cheryl from Hospice for being so good to our dad.

To dad's three caregivers, Patty Carr, Loretta Rhodes, and Kim Dawson, "Thank You" from the bottom of our hearts for caring so much about our dad and taking such good care of him. We appreciate you all very much.

A service will held at 1:00 pm, Monday March 20, 2017 at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Edens and Rick Sams officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
