Obituary for Rev. Floyd Cottrell

Rev. Floyd Cottrell, 88, of Charleston passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He preached at several churches in the Kanawha Valley; having served at Spradling Gospel Tabernacle, Fisher Memorial, Riverview Gospel Tabernacle. Floyd also worked for Kanawha County School Board.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Smith Cottrell and Susie Cottrell; son, Tommy Cottrell, daughter, Sharon Harper, granddaughter, Crystal Gail Long and seven brothers.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Juanita Light Cottrell; children, David, Jeff and Mike Cottrell and Jeannie Simpkins; grandchildren, Janet Burdette, Pam, Peggy, Tommy, Robert, T.F. Cottrell, Kimberly Harper, JD Harper, Bergetta, Candy Jo, Kelly Cottrell, Brandy Cottrell, Sharon Cottrell; Gary Wilson, Paul Vance, Meagan Cottrell, Mike Cottrell; Desirea Wallace, Jaden Leport, Aaron Leport, Tracy Marie Cottrell. And several great grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Norville Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
